Martin Scorsese has signed an overall deal to create content for Apple TV+.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winner’s Sikelia Productions firm is now locked into a film and TV deal with the tech behemoth, meaning he will develop his projects for Apple’s TV+ streaming platform.
The deal comes after Scorsese’s longtime collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio signed a similar deal with Apple, and both formalize a relationship beginning with the feature film Killers of the Flower Moon, starring DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, and directed by The Irishman filmmaker.
Apple chiefs have now struck deals with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Idris Elba, and Ridley Scott – as well as working on kids’ content relating to the Sesame Workshop and Peanuts brands.
Oprah Winfrey, Alfonso Cuaron, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Justin Lin have also signed contracts to create content for Apple TV+.
