Blake Lively raving about Taylor Swift’s new album amid baby-name reveal drama

Blake Lively has made it clear she has no problem with pal Taylor Swift’s revealing the name of her third child on her new album Folklore by raving about the release.

One of the songs, Betty, was a quiet tribute to the actress’ daughter, who was born last year (2019), and fans were quick to pick up on the importance of the track, which features references to the former Gossip Girl star’s kids, Inez and James, with her husband Ryan Reynolds.

The Hollywood couple had never released the name of its third daughter.

But Lively was quick to make sure any drama surrounding the reveal was quashed, taking to Instagram on Saturday, July 25, 2020 to gush about her friend’s new release.

“Thank you @taylorswift,” the 32-year-old actress wrote. “Can we all just please crawl inside that piano with you and live in this album?

“Like you, Folklore is full of heart, soul, humor, passion, intelligence, wit, whimsy, reality, imagination, strength, vulnerability, and above all things: LOVE.”

A source close to Blake has told People that the song was in fact “named in part” for Lively’s third daughter.

Swift’s surprise new release became an instant hit – in its first 24 hours, Folklore exceeded sales of 1.3 million copies globally and broke the Spotify record for global first-day record streams by a female artist, with 80.6 million, according to Just Jared. Meanwhile, the album amassed well over 35 million streams on Apple Music, making it the most-streamed pop album on the platform in 24 hours.

Nicole Kidman is also a huge fan of the album – in a video clip shared with her seven million Instagram followers, the Oscar winner can be seen rocking a jacket and white top outfit similar to what Taylor wears on the cover of Folklore from the set of her 2017 film The Beguiled.

“On the set of #BeguiledMovie #Folklore Sisters… Love this album,” Kidman captioned the footage.

Not long after posting the video, Taylor responded: “This just made me GRIN (pink heart emojis) you’re the greatest.”

Meanwhile, Swift gifted some of her pals with special souvenirs to mark the release. Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita showed off replicas of the cardigan Taylor wore in her music video for her album’s lead single, Cardigan, as did Cheer star Monica Aldama, along with Kobe Bryant’s widow Vanessa Bryant and the couple’s 17-year-old daughter, Natalia.

“Thank you SO much @taylorswift. I am obsessed with folklore,” the teenager wrote on her Instagram Story, beneath a photo of herself holding up the cardigan.
