Britney Spears insists she’s ‘happy’ as Free Britney movement continues online

Britney Spears has assured fans she’s fine and feeling “happy” amid ongoing concerns for her wellbeing.

The 38-year-old singer has been taking to social media during lockdown to show off her quirky personality with dance videos, clips of her doing fashion shows at home, inspirational quotes, and numerous photos.

Despite fans theorizing that she’s being forced to share the clips under the conservatorship of her dad, Jamie, the Toxic star took to Instagram to share a Bible quote, which reads: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”

In the caption, she penned: “I get how some people might not like my posts or even understand them, but this is Me being happy ….. this is Me being authentic and as real as it gets!

“I want to inspire people to do the same and just be themselves without pleasing others ….. that’s the key to happiness,” she added.

Britney has been under the watchful eye of her father Jamie since 2008 when he took on responsibility for the Stronger hitmaker’s welfare and finances following her public breakdown.

But when she entered rehab again last year (2019) in the latest stage of her mental health journey, rumors started emerging that Britney was actually being kept at the facility against her will by Jamie – who has now handed over his duties to the star’s longtime care manager, Jodi Montgomery, until at least 22 August.

A hearing about the future of Britney’s conservatorship was due to take place earlier this year but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The mom-of-two is now due back in court later this month (July 2020) for a new hearing to assess the situation.
