With the arrival of the second season, judge Jonathan Adler bid goodbye to his signature adieu to cast-offs: “See you later, decorator!” Smart, because now the show about quick-witted decorating is tolerable — not to mention incredible. Designing for dopey bachelors, demanding Project Runway divas, and hide-out bunkers one could possibly spend the rest of his/her life in — these challenges are behind us. Now it’s between three designers: Nathan, who makes a jar full of giant hardware nails seem phallic; Preston, who makes everything look like a modern-meets-traditional hotel lobby; and Ondine, who is a helluva lot like Betsey Johnson but with a better moniker. Who will have the right to say they have the top design?! Oh, yeah, and a spread in Elle Décor — no Saturn hybrid for these guys.

YESTERDAY’S DO-IT: Buh-bye, George W. Bush!
