Tom Felton to Reprise Draco Malfoy in Broadway’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Tom Felton, best known for playing Draco Malfoy in all eight Harry Potter films, is officially joining the cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway this fall.

Felton will reprise his iconic role as Draco in the hit stage production, marking a major moment for Harry Potter Broadway fans. His 19-week run begins November 11, 2025, at New York City’s Lyric Theatre.

“It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes—and of course, his iconic platinum blond hair,” Felton said. “Being part of the Harry Potter films was the greatest honor of my life, and returning for Cursed Child on Broadway is a full-circle moment.”

A Magical Milestone for Harry Potter on Broadway

Felton’s casting is historic—it’s the first time a cast member from the Harry Potter films has joined Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the record-breaking stage play that continues the story of the Boy Who Lived, 19 years after the final book.

Since debuting in London’s West End in 2016 and transferring to Broadway in 2018, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has become the highest-grossing non-musical play in Broadway history, with productions in New York, London, Tokyo, and Hamburg.

Felton’s Draco is now a father, navigating adult life alongside Harry, Ron, and Hermione—who are sending their own children to Hogwarts. Fans will see a more complex, older version of Draco Malfoy, portrayed by an actor who has literally grown with the character.

A Return to Magic for Tom Felton

Felton, now 37, starred as Draco Malfoy from 2001 to 2011. Since then, he’s appeared in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, made his West End debut in 2:22 A Ghost Story, and reunited with his Hogwarts co-stars for the 20th anniversary HBO special. He also published a memoir, Beyond the Wand, reflecting on his journey through the wizarding world.

His Instagram teaser for the role—featuring the signature blond wig, black robes, and wand—sent fans into a frenzy. “Scared, Potter?” he asks, reviving one of Draco’s most iconic lines.
