Jason Sudeikis made now-fiancee Olivia Wilde wait a month before texting her to set up a date.
The Horrible Bosses star met the actress at a Saturday Night Live after party and they exchanged numbers, but Jason kept Olivia hanging by her cell phone waiting for a text for a month.
“When he got my number he didn’t text me for a month,” she tells U.S. radio host Howard Stern. “I was on the hook… I was like ‘You guys, did Jason Sudeikis die? Because I don’t have any texts.'”
When they finally began dating, Jason still “played it really cool” and kept her waiting for a kiss until the fourth date, so she played him at his own game by holding off on getting physical.
“He literally didn’t kiss me until the fourth date,” she adds. “He finally kissed me and I was completely head over heels but I’m a lady so I left. I was like ‘got the kiss gotta leave now. This is when you gotta get out’….. I was like, ‘okay, two can play at this game.'”
She also revealed that during the SNL afterparty she was on the dance floor but appeared lost, and Jason came up to her and said, “Whatever you’re looking for, you don’t need it,” before walking off.
Jason’s “cool” dating style seemed to have worked as they have been together since 2011. They got engaged in January, 2013 and welcomed their first child together, son Otis, in April, 2014.
Olivia, 32, was first married aged 19 to Italian filmmaker Tao Ruspoli. They separated in 2011 after eight years of marriage.
