SANTA MONICA, Calif, March 22, 2000 – Call it “The Battle of the Blonds.” Brad Pitt Brad Pitt (aka, the young Robert Redford) and Robert Redford (aka, the old Brad Pitt) are eyeing a spy flick called “Spy Game” in which they’d give audiences a double jolt of their, well, blondness.
Today’s Hollywood Reporter says Pitt and Redford have been looking for a flick to do together. To date their sole collaboration is 1992’s “A River Runs Through It.” On that one, though, Redford stayed behind the camera, directing and narrating. “Spy Game,” an in-the-works espionage flick for Universal Pictures, would be the first time the two hotties shared screen time.
TAKING FLIGHT: “Hannibal”-bound Julianne Moore is in talks to star in an Amelia Earhart biopic entitled, “I Was Amelia Earhart,” Daily Variety says. Amelia Earhart was a famous pilot of the 1930s. She’s lost and therefore could not be reached for comment on the Moore report.
NAG, NAG, NAG: Helena Bonham Carter (“A Room With a View“) will play dead for “Till Human Voices Wake Us,” an indie romantic drama, the Hollywood Reporter says. Bonham Carter‘s character will haunt her still-alive childhood sweetheart.
GOOD KNIGHT: “Terminator 2” kid turned man Edward Furlong is set to star as a Crusades-era knight in the action-epic “The Knights of the Quest,” Variety says. Shooting is to start April 3 in Italy, provided some all-new Crusades thing doesn’t break out.
CLEANING UP: Trade-paper reports today say David Fincher (“Fight Club“) is looking at directing “The Panic Room,” a “Wait Until Dark“-esque tale about a woman and child whose apartment is invaded by bad guys. Due to “Fight Club“‘s relative lack of box-office punch, there will be absolutely no references to soap.
