Hey Hollywooders (or should I say Potterheads)! The third installment of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is officially here, and we couldn’t be more excited. The new movie Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the third of five installments of the Fantastic Beast series, and it involves the great wizard Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) in his formative years becoming the headmaster at Hogwarts. While this new “fantastic” story isn’t exactly clear, we know the Harry Potter inspired film will be enchanting, fantastical, and will finally give viewers a glimpse into the life of a young Albus Dumbeldore in the 1930s.
What is Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them 3 about?
The New Fantastic Beasts Movie, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, is a cousin film to J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter book and movie series. It gives us the backstory we all so desperately wanted for the world of witchcraft and wizardry. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore paints a magical picture in the 1930s full of comfy train cars, white winter landscapes and mystical creatures. The film picks up several years before the first film where Albus Dumbledore, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and their companions embark on a mission into the middle of the storm that is the Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) army. As always, chaos ensues when the team faces Grindelwald and his growing legion of followers.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore cracks the Fantastic Beasts history wide open and explores the complicated relationship of warfare and love between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. It makes it impossible to know the outcome of their battle without actually watching the movie.
The New Fantastic Beasts movie cast revealed
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore gives screen time to the most beloved characters, and while we will not see some people from the previous cast, we will get to see plenty of familiar faces.
As for the characters we’re missing, Johnny Depp, who played Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 1 and 2, will unfortunately not be returning to the franchise. While we are going to miss him, Fantastic Beast 3 is stacked with an ensemble cast. The silver lining in Johnny Depp leaving is that he will be replaced by Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen, who is set to play Grindelwald in the final two films of the franchise as well!
The ensemble cast also includes Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, Katherine Waterston and more!

We can’t wait to see all of the characters, new and old, in Fantastic Beasts 3 and fans on Twitter felt the same way. Some even mentioned that the cast was upset with the absence of Johnny Depp, but overcame it.
Fantastic Beasts 3 cast told that during the first days of working without Johnny Depp everyone moral was low with a funeral atmosphere.
They also confirmed Johnny was always kind with all the employees, no matter if they were famous or not. He was just very humble and sweet.

If you haven’t seen any films in the franchise, we recommend watching all of the new Fantastic Beasts movies in order, so you can develop a better understanding of the series as a whole.
