Actress Lucy Hale would love to see a spin-off series based on her hit U.S. TV show Pretty Little Liars – as long as she’s brought on board to produce it.
The star is set to reunite with castmates Ashley Benson, Troian Bellisario, Tyler Blackburn, Ian Harding, Shay Mitchell, Janel Parrish, and Sasha Pieterse for an upcoming COVID-19 fundraising live stream for non-profit Feeding America on Friday (May 15, 2020).
In a chat with Entertainment Tonight, Lucy said the virtual gathering was “a no-brainer”, as all of the stars have plenty of free time while stuck in lockdown, and she went on to muse over the future of the franchise – which she’s sure will be revived.
“We’re in a quarantine that we thought would last a couple weeks. Anything is possible at this point,” she said of a potential big-screen project. “I don’t rule anything out, (but) I feel like we’d need a little more time to pass. I feel like we would get more out of it if we were, like, 10 years down the road.”
Lucy continued: “I feel like they’re gonna do a spinoff or something before then. I don’t know. I’m so protective of this show So I feel like when the time comes that they want to do it with a whole new cast, I might have to produce it because I’m way too protective of it.”
The actress played Aria Montgomery in the teen drama series, about a group of friends being stalked by a mysterious figure named “A” who threatens to expose their deepest secrets.
The Pretty Little Liars reunion event, hosted through Cast4Good, kicks off Friday at 3 pm ET.
