Actress Sarah Paulson has Jessica Lange to thank for all her TV success because the veteran introduced her to mogul Ryan Murphy.
Paulson has made a name for herself and picked up a haul of acting awards by becoming the writer/director’s leading lady in series like The People Vs. O.J. Simpson and American Horror Story, and she recently signed on to front the in-demand Glee creator’s new One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest origin series, Ratched.
Sarah admits she may never have met Murphy if it wasn’t for a chance encounter at a party for one of his employees.
The actress was Lange’s guest at the event and she tells Adweek magazine, “Jessica threw her arm around me, looked at Ryan and said, ‘Can’t you find something for Sarah to do on the show? It would be so great. I just like having her around’.”
She and Murphy formed an instant bond and now Paulson would be happy to only work with the mogul on the small screen: “Why would you leave something that works?” she smiles.
