Bonus Trivia

.

"I was always the Victim of the Week, yelling 'Oh, help me!' just before Knight Rider or the A-Team would come to rescue me." --Turner reflecting on her mid-1980s career, when she was stuck playing a series of beautiful but vacuous women, quoted in Entertainment Weekly, May 3, 1991.

.

On returning to NYC to live at age 24, Turner told Parade (July 9, 2000): "I'd reached a point where I didn't respect what I was doing anymore. I thought if I could educate myself about acting, then maybe I could respect it again ... New York became my own liberal arts degree. I spent my time taking acting lessons, going to symphonies, seeing Japanese films and reading The New York Times. It was a time for me to develop who I was."

.

"Horses are like Valium for me. I could be having a miserable day and the minute I get on my horses, I relax." --Turner quoted in Movieline, July 1997.

.

She is a member of the The Common Ground Theatre, an avant-garde theatre group for which, in addition to acting, Turner writes poetry and plays.
