Nick Cordero fundraiser passes goal following leg amputation

Fans of Broadway star Nick Cordero have come together to help raise over $357,000 to aid his recovery after the actor lost his leg at the weekend (April 18, 2020).

The funds were generated shortly after Nick’s right leg was amputated to aid his recovery from the coronavirus via a GoFundMe page, and will help his wife, Amanda Kloots, cover his medical expenses.

Kloots took to Instagram Story on Sunday to update fans on her husband’s progress, revealing he 41 years old is “doing the best he possibly can”.

“He’s recovering well after surgery,” she shared. “The wound looks OK. He didn’t lose a lot of blood.

His blood pressure is OK. His heart is OK. Even his internal bleeding has come down. Everything seems to be calmed down, which is so great because this has been such a roller coaster.”

Kloots revealed on Saturday (April 18, 2020) her husband would be losing his leg after suffering a series of blood clot issues that were hampering his recovery from COVID-19.

“We got some difficult news yesterday,” Kloots said in a video update. “We took him off the blood thinners, but that again was going to cause the clotting in the right leg, so the right leg will be amputated today.”
