Bonus Trivia

.

Although they continued to perform and record together, John Cummings and Jeffrey Hyman stopped speaking in the 1980s after Hyman's girfriend Linda Daniele left him for Cummings.

.

The 1985 song "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg," written by Hyman as a critique of then-President Ronald Reagan, was ultimately retitled "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down" to appease Reagan supporter Cummings. (The name "Bonzo" was a reference to the movie "Bedtime for Bonzo" (1951), a film that starred Reagan before he quit acting to become a politician.

.

The Ramones, avowed fans of "The Simpsons" (Fox 1989-), portrayed themselves on a 1993 episode of the series.

.

The surname Ramone was inspired by Paul McCartney's short-lived stage name "Paul Ramon" in the earliest days of The Beatles.

.

Alongside The Jimi Hendrix Experience, the Ramones sadly became one of the first major rock bands whose original lineup is deceased.
