Grossman passed away in Los Angeles on 19 August (10), after a long battle with chronic obstructed pulmonary disorder, reports Variety.

She made her Broadway debut in the original 1966 Broadway production of The Lion in Winter, and also appeared in stage revivals of Cyrano de Bergerac and George Kelly’s The Show-Off.

She later turned to writing, and with actor Paxton Whitehead adapted Georges Feydeau’s There’s One in Every Marriage for the Broadway stage in 1971.
