Retired U.S. rock DJ Dave Herman has been arrested after he allegedly tried to set up a sexual encounter with a minor. Cops were waiting for the 77 year old at an airport in the U.S. Virgin Islands on Thursday (24Oct13) after he flew in from New York.
He was arrested over claims he schemed to sexually abuse a seven-year-old girl after setting up the meeting with her mother. The woman was actually an undercover officer in New Jersey.
Herman was charged with interstate transport of a minor for sex and will face magistrates in the Virgin Islands on Friday (25Oct13).
He was a huge hit on the airwaves during his career, helming his Rock And Roll Morning Show from 1972 to 1998.
