Regardless of two sitcom cancellations already on her resume, actress/comedian Ellen DeGeneres continues to strive for television exposure.
This time around, though, she’s gearing up to host her own daily talk show, Reuters reports.
Based out of Los Angeles, the hour-long variety show would highlight DeGeneres‘ stand-up comedy background and, if all goes as planned, it will be on the air as soon as fall 2003.
The Rosie O’Donnell Show‘s Telepictures is set to produce with Warner Bros. Domestic Television distributing.
“It was something we were thinking about and something she was thinking about independently,” he told Variety.
The decision to move forward, however, depends on DeGeneres‘ CBS sitcom, The Ellen Show. Although it was canceled earlier this year, the eye network is still deciding whether to bring it back in the fall. A decision is expected in May.
