Emmy Awards loses categories in shake-up

Beginning at next year’s (13) Primetime Emmy ceremony, the categories will be called Outstanding Actor In A Mini-Series Or TV Movie and Outstanding Actress In A Mini-Series Or TV Movie.

Bosses at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences are also expanding the field from five to six nominees.

At the 2012 TV prizegiving, Guy Pearce won a supporting actor Emmy for Mildred Pierce, while Dame Maggie Smith took home the supporting actress prize for Downton Abbey.
