Hilary Kole wins legal battle against ex

Jazz singer Hilary Kole has won a legal battle against her ex-boyfriend and former boss. The star accused John Valenti of trying to sabotage her career after they broke up in 2011 by refusing to release the singer from her contract, warning other musicians against working with her and threatening to crash her live performances.
Kole filed a civil suit against her former lover that year (11) and on Thursday (11Apr13) a New York judge released the musician from Valenti’s management team, giving her the green light to record again.
And Kole couldn’t be happier – holding back tears, she told the New York Daily News, “I feel exhilarated and vindicated. A great sense of relief. I can now do what I do best – sing. I want to get into a recording studio as soon as possible.”
