Iron Maiden and Arctic Monkeys back new ticketing law

Rockers Iron Maiden and Arctic Monkeys are backing fresh calls for a new law to ban ticket touting in the U.K. Several Members of Parliament (MPs) are banding together to force a review of the law to make it illegal for gig-goers to re-sell tickets for a massive profit.
They are hoping to put together a petition containing more than 100,000 signatures urging the government to take action, and among the backers of the campaign are veteran rockers Iron Maiden and Crying Lightning hitmakers Arctic Monkeys.
Conservative Party MP Mike Weatherley says, “Secondary ticketing takes place now on an industrial scale… The Government’s view is that there isn’t enough evidence to warrant a fresh look. But quite a few backbenchers (lower-level MPs) are questioning this and the clamour is becoming a bit of a roar.”
