The Batman Begins star stunned Hollywood in June (12) when she left the Mission: Impossible actor after five years of marriage and moved into her own apartment in New York with their daughter Suri.
Their divorce was finalised last month (Aug12) and Holmes has been confiding in her actor pal Strong to help her through the hard times.
Strong’s mother, Maureen, tells America’s Star magazine, “He told me, ‘Mum, she’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, so authentic and down-to-earth. She’s the real deal.'”
And an insider says, “They’ve been friends for years. Other than her parents, Jeremy was the only person who knew Katie was moving to New York – and the first person she saw when she arrived.”
But Holmes’ relationship with Strong is strictly platonic. The source adds, “Katie doesn’t feel the need to rush into another relationship. He’s helped boost Katie’s confidence in her personal and professional life.”
