Lizzo hits number one with Truth Hurts

Lizzo has scored her first U.S. chart-topper.

Truth Hurts has bumped Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s Senorita from the Billboard Hot 100 top spot in its 17th week on the countdown. The track debuted at 50 back in May 2019, but Lizzo, real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson, originally released the song in September 2017.

Lizzo celebrated her first number one with fans on Twitter on Tuesday (September 3, 2019), writing: “WE DID IT LIZZBIANS.”

Meanwhile, Swift also lands Lover at 10, giving her a 25th Hot 100 top 10, tying Elvis Presley for the 10th-most top 10s of all-time. Madonna has the most, with 38.
