Napa Valley Film Festival gets go-ahead after earthquake

Organisers of the Napa Valley Film Festival in California have confirmed the movie event will still go ahead in the aftermath of an earthquake which rocked the area on Sunday (24Aug14). The Napa Valley was shaken by a tremor which measured 6.0 on the Richter scale, injuring more than 100 and causing damage to many homes and local businesses.
Bosses behind the area’s big movie celebration, the Napa Valley Film Festival, have now confirmed the disaster has not affected plans for the event, which will go ahead as scheduled.
A statement from organisers reads, “Our thoughts are with everyone in the Napa Valley who have suffered losses from the recent earthquake. We are proud to be part of a community that rallies in support of each other in such a generous and big hearted way. As they say in the business, the show must go on.”
The festival’s line-up includes Anne Hathaway’s new movie Song One and Like Sunday, Like Rain, which features Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong. The festival kicks off in November (14).
