Nathan Lane: ‘Harvey Weinstein threw me against a wall’

Nathan Lane has accused disgraced movie boss Harvey Weinstein of throwing him against a wall at Hillary Clinton’s birthday party in 2000.
The film producer was terminated from his The Weinstein Company on Sunday (08Oct17) following an expose published by the New York Times, in which the mogul’s alleged three decades of inappropriate sexual behaviour was detailed, along with allegations made against him by several women.
Sources told The Times that Weinstein allegedly paid out thousands of dollars to at least eight women to buy their silence after they complained about his behaviour.
Ashley Judd led the charge by telling the newspaper the producer invited her to his hotel room for a breakfast meeting and allegedly asked her to massage him and watch him take a shower.
Weinstein has apologised for his past bad behaviour following the publication of the Times expose on Thursday (05Oct17), but now stars are lining up to take aim at the movie executive, with Lane recalling a violent encounter with Harvey 17 years ago.
Nathan, who was hosting Clinton’s birthday bash, claims Harvey was upset about a joke he made at the expense of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s hair.
“This is my f**king show, we don’t need you,” Weinstein told Lane after reportedly throwing him against a wall.
“You can’t hurt me, I don’t have a film career,” he fired back at Weinstein.
Meanwhile, a source tells the New York Post’s Page Six the producer criticised actress Hayley Atwell’s look on the set of Brideshead Revisited in 2008.
Weinstein reportedly began flirting with her and then at lunch told her to watch what she was eating because he didn’t like how she appeared onscreen.
“You look like a fat pig on screen,” he reportedly told her. “Stop eating so much.”
The source claims Atwell told her co-star Emma Thompson and she threatened to quit the film over Weinstein’s alleged behaviour.
