Pop star Lee Ryan arrested

British pop star Lee Ryan has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and drug possession. The Blue singer, 30, was taken into custody in the early hours of Friday morning (11Apr14) after police officers pulled over his car in west London and allegedly found a stash of illegal drugs during a search of the vehicle.
Ryan, who refused to take a breath test, was taken to a police station for questioning and charged with failing to provide a specimen.
He was later slapped with an additional charge of criminal damage after he allegedly urinated all over his holding cell during a tantrum.
A statement from the Metropolitan Police reads, “Police stopped a car after officers witnessed it being driven erratically. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and taken into custody. He was subsequently further arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs and criminal damage.”
Officers are awaiting the result of tests on the substance found in Ryan’s car, according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
The One Love singer was released on bail on Friday night (11Apr14) and is due to appear at Ealing Magistrates’ Court in London on 2 May (14).
