Queen Latifah offers woman with viral ‘I Quit’ video a job

Queen Latifah has offered viral video star Marina Shifrin a job on her new talk show, after her ‘I Quit’ resignation video took the internet by storm. The 25 year old became an overnight sensation at the weekend (28-29Sep13) after posting a video message to her boss on YouTube.com, in which she informed him she would be quitting her position at a Taiwan-based production company which creates news videos.
Her interpretive dance performance to Kanye West’s Gone as she made her way through the company’s offices caught Queen Latifah’s eye and she invited her on her show to talk about the imaginative video, which has garnered over 11.5 million views.
Unemployed Shifrin moved back to America after quitting her job in Taiwan, and explained to Latifah that she is currently on the job hunt and living in her parents’ basement, prompting the Chicago star to surprise her with a job offer.
On her show on Thursday (03Oct13), Queen Latifah said, “I like to be surrounded by cool, creative, interesting people. With your experience maybe I could create a position for a digital content producer. Would that be something you’d be interested in?”
Clearly caught off-guard by her suggestion, Shifrin repeatedly asked if the host was joking, to which Latifah responded, “I’m a boss. And bosses can hire!”
