Singer Dennis Frederiksen dies

Rock singer Dennis Frederiksen has died aged 62 after a battle with liver cancer. The rocker, also known as ‘Fergie’ Frederiksen, passed away on Saturday (18Jan14), four years after he was diagnosed with inoperable cancer.
A statement posted on his official website reads, “It is with a very heavy heart I tell you that… Fergie Frederiksen passed away today January 18. Fergie has been a true Champ, and a fighter, and for this he got several years extra with us… We should all celebrate Fergie’s life and music, the way he impacted us all in such a great way…”
Throughout his career, Frederiksen performed with numerous acts including Trillion, Toto, LeRoux and Survivor, singing backing vocals on the band’s biggest hit Eye of the Tiger.
He also performed under the alias David London, providing songs for the Village People’s 1980 musical film Can’t Stop the Music.
Frederiksen’s last solo album, Any Given Moment, was released in August (13).
