Snoop Dogg and Avicii festival cancelled

A U.S. music festival due to be headlined by rapper Snoop Dogg and chart-topping DJ Avicii has been cancelled. Pretty Lights, Eric Prydz and Paul van Dyk were also set to perform at the inaugural Moonrise Festival in Baltimore, Maryland on the weekend of 8-9 June (13).
However, organisers have pulled the plug on the event with less than two weeks to go after failing to secure the proper permits.
An official statement from bosses at Steez Promo, the company behind the festival, reads, “It is with a heavy heart that we regret to announce the cancellation of this year’s Moonrise Festival. Although we have put everything we had into this event trying to make it happen we have hit a roadblock that we just cannot overcome as the final permit needed will not be approved.
“We are devastated by what has happened but… we cannot move forward without this final permit. We want to both thank and apologise to the fans, the artists, all members of the media, and everyone else who have supported this event. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. We have battled to keep this event alive and we are absolutely crushed by this turn of events.”
Ticket holders will receive full refunds.
