Sophie Turner recalls twin’s loss during emotional scenes

Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner uses a childhood tragedy to help bolster her emotional performances onscreen. The 18 year old, who plays Sansa Stark in the hit fantasy TV show, had a twin sister who died during pregnancy, a loss which still haunts her.
Turner admits she draws on her feelings surrounding the tragedy in scenes which require her to cry.
She tells Britain’s You magazine, “My mum had a miscarriage – my twin died and I lived. That definitely affected me in terms of I always felt as though… something was missing. I have two older brothers who are close in age and I always felt as though I needed someone or should have had someone there.
“I guess there’s a sense of loss there that I have used to conjure emotions onscreen, such as when it came to Sean (Bean, her on-screen father) dying.”
