Spock steps down from Star Trek conventions

The actor made his name playing half-Vulcan Spock in the original Star Trek TV series back in 1966. Nimoy, along with other beloved stars of the show, has been a regular at the annual conventions set up by Creation Entertainment over the last three decades.

But the 80 year old has decided to step down, and has confirmed his last appearance was at the 45th anniversary event in Chicago, Illinois last weekend (01-02Oct11).

At the convention, he spoke to fans about his life and thanked them for their support, before making his famous Vulcan salute and saying his catchphrase from the show, “Live Long and prosper.”
