Valentin de Vargas dies at 78

Actor Valentin De Vargas has passed away at the age of 78. The Touch of Evil star, who was born Albert Charles Schubert, lost his battle with myelodysplastic syndrome, a blood related medical condition, on 10 June (13) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
His daughter Vanessa de Vargas revealed the news on Wednesday (14Aug13), explaining that the family wanted to wait until after his burial on Tuesday (13Aug13) to make an official announcement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Vargas made his on-screen debut in 1955’s Blackboard Jungle with Sidney Poitier. He didn’t have any lines in the project, but appeared in every school scene. He would later go on to act in several films, including Touch of Evil, alongside Janet Leigh.
He also starred in various TV shows, including Hill Street Blues, The Wild Wild West, Bonanza, The Fugitive, T.J. Hooker, and Dallas.
