Video on demand coming from HBO

Starting next month, cable channel HBO will test video on demand service in Columbia, S.C., The Associated Press reports. The service, which will allow subscribers to watch approximately 150 hours of programming, including The Sopranos and Sex and the City, whenever they want, will be set up similar to a pay-per-view service. AOL Time Warner chief executive officer Gerald Levin said that two other markets will have similar tests done with different pricing points, following the test in South Carolina. AOL Time Warner owns HBO.
