Wale scores first U.S. album chart number one

Rapper Wale has landed his first number one album in the U.S. after debuting The Gifted atop the Billboard 200. The album keeps J. Cole’s Born Sinner stuck at two and drops Kanye West’s Yeezus to three with 158,000 first-week sales.
Wale’s last album, 2011’s Ambition, peaked at two, shifting 164,000 units in its debut week.
Christian rockers Skillet enter the new chart at four with Rise, while Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories rounds out the top five at five.
Meanwhile, Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines spends a fourth week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, keeping Daft Punk’s Get Lucky at two and a charging Miley Cyrus (We Can’t Stop) at three.
