Nolan doesn’t want Batman in 3-D

Nolan recently turned down offers to use the technology to shoot new movie Inception, because he wasn’t happy with the quality of 3-D films currently on the market.

He tells the Hollywood Reporter, “We did tests on Inception to look at the post-conversion process. And they worked very well. It’s quite easy to do, in fact. But it takes a little time, and we didn’t have the time to do it to the standard that I would have been happy.”

And he admits he has no plans to make the next Batman movie using the technology – unless fans put up a fight.

He says, “I’m not a huge fan of 3-D… But really it’s going to be up to audiences to decide how they want to watch their films.”

The follow-up to 2008’s The Dark Knight is scheduled for a summer 2012 release.
