‘Wuthering Heights’ Star Dead at 91

Movie veteran Geraldine Fitzgerald has died after a long battle with
Alzheimer’s disease. She was 91.

The actress appeared in a series of classic movies including Dark Victory,
Nobody Lives Forever and Wuthering Heights, but is perhaps best known for her
work on the New York stage.

The Irish actress received an Academy Award nomination for her performance as
Isabella, opposite Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon, in 1939’s Wuthering
Heights
.

Fitzgerald received a Tony Award nomination in the early 1980s for directing
religious drama Mass Appeal and she also developed a hit one-woman cabaret show called Streetsongs.
