Looks like our favorite wild child British supermodel has jumped the New York Fashion Week ship — at least for this season.
Cara Delevingne, 21, has made a noticeable dissapearance from the runway scene this past week, surfacing only on set for her latest film, Kids in Love, pictured left, yesterday.
While this isn’t the first time Delevingne acted for the big screen (she also nabbed a part in last year’s Anna Karenina alongside Keira Knightley), this is her first major leading role.
It’s a bold move, coming from the same girl who walked the runways for an incredible fifteen shows in New York last season, including big names like Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Tory Burch, and Diane von Furstenberg — shows that can make or break a model’s career.
However, there might be other forces at work. Delevingne was voted 2012 Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards, and has been the cover girl for Love Magazine, W, as well as multiple international editions of Vogue.

She also has over 1 million followers on Twitter, and has more than twice that amount on Instagram. Perhaps, as Karlie Kloss put it in August, Delevingne is “too famous to book runway shows.”
While the catwalk queen is filming (and partying, we bet) in the UK, we’re waiting with bated breath to catch her at the London shows.
