Adam Lamberg returning to complete Lizzie McGuire line-up

Hilary Duff is celebrating the completion of the original Lizzie Mcguire line-up after co-star Adam Lamberg agreed to return as her character’s best friend.

The actress, who plays the titular role, is currently filming the series reboot in New York City, and now it’s been announced Lamberg will be back as her onscreen pal, the sarcastic David ‘Gordo’ Gordon.

“Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original Lizzie McGuire so authentic and beloved,” Duff shares in a statement, which accompanies a photo of the reunited pair onset.

“I couldn’t imagine the series without him. I can’t wait for fans to see what he’s up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie’s adult world.”

The news of Lamberg’s return emerges weeks after it was revealed former castmates Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, and Jake Thomas would all be reprising their roles from the hit Disney show as McGuire’s family members.

The Lizzie McGuire revamp will feature Duff’s character now living in New York City and working as an apprentice to an interior decorator, as she approaches her 30th birthday.

It will be co-executive produced by Duff and debut on the new Disney+ streaming service next year (2020).

The original series ran from 2001 to 2004.
