Penn Badgley: ‘I’m starting to think like my You psycho’

Actor Penn Badgley is getting a little concerned because he’s beginning to think like his serial killer You character.

The former Gossip Girl star, who plays charismatic Joe in the series, admits he often finds himself drifting off in between takes and his mind begins to race, just like his character’s.

“I remember it was six in the morning and I was in this sex dungeon applying fake blood to myself, and I was sort of like, ‘Hmmmm’,” he explains. “In between takes I’m always laughing and constantly calling attention to how absurd it is, but the reason I’m good at playing him is because I understand him.

“My mind is racing at all times basically, so any time I understand him I think, ‘I gotta work on that’.”
