Although you wouldn’t really call the Billboard Awards one of the biggest award shows on television, the 2012 ceremony gave the world some very memorable moments. From the debut of Katy Perry’s new song “Wide Awake,” to the eclectic list of winners, the night was full of triumph. On a more somber note, however, the night also paid respect to recently deceased music icon Whitney Houston, featuring a performance of “I Will Always Love You” by Jordin Sparks.
You can’t help but think back to earlier in 2012, when Jennifer Hudson sang the same classic Houston ballad at the 2012 Grammys. Both were monumentally moving performances and testaments to just how big of an influence Houston has had on aspiring singers. You can watch both videos below.
