Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black ‘stronger than ever’ after secret split

Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black and his diver boyfriend Tom Daley are stronger than ever after a secret split and a Snapchat sex scandal.
The couple hit the headlines on Saturday (21Jan17) when it was revealed Olympian Tom had taken part in explicit online exchanges with a man while on a temporary break from Dustin last year (16).
They split so the athlete could focus on the Rio 2016 games in Brazil, where he won bronze, while Lance Black, 42, was filming a TV series in the U.S. It was reported Tom sent explicit videos and pictures to a 23-year-old man during an 11-month online exchange.
He made contact with the male fan in February last year (16), just months after he announced his engagement to Dustin.
The screenwriter told British newspaper The Sun the sportsman told him about the online affair, but added the couple had secretly split at that point.
“Tom and I talked about anything and everything that went on. That’s the secret to how we are so close and can survive tough times,” Dustin said.
The couple decided to tell only a handful of people about the seven-month split, which was a mutual decision between the pair after hectic work schedules and living in different countries began to put a strain on the relationship.
They later reconciled and they were able to adjust their schedules to make time for each other: “Adjustments had to be made to make sure that we are never separated for any reason, including work, ever again,” Dustin explained. “Part of that process is also why we’ve actually now set a date for our wedding.”
Tom insisted the explicit online exchanges were a one-off, and he is a changed man now.
“This will absolutely never happen again now that we’re getting married,” he told The Sun.
