Linkin Park revamp website with suicide prevention helplines

Rockers Linkin Park are using singer Chester Bennington’s tragic death to urge others struggling with suicidal thoughts to seek professional help.
The Numb hitmakers have been left reeling by the loss of the frontman, who committed suicide at his California home on Thursday (20Jul17), aged 41.
Band co-founder Mike Shinoda released a brief statement on social media after the sad news broke, revealing he was “shocked and heartbroken” by Bennington’s passing, and although the group has yet to issue a formal statement, the musicians have decided to share a poignant message on their official website to try and prevent other similar tragedies.
A new page on the site, located at chester.linkinpark.com, features a photo of Bennington onstage, alongside the hashtag “#RIPCHESTER”.
The contact information for a number of different resources, including the Suicide Prevention Lifeline and Crisis Text Line, are then listed for anyone in trouble.
The update emerges after Linkin Park officially cancelled their upcoming One More Light World Tour on Friday (21Jul17), which had been due to resume on 27 July (17). They have also axed a series of co-headlining gigs with Blink-182.
