Maren Morris fires back at blogger for ‘humility’ criticism

Country singer Maren Morris has taken aim at a music blogger after she was criticised for lacking “humility”.
The My Church hitmaker found herself targeted by Saving Country Music blogger Kyle ‘Trigger’ Coroneos, who analysed her new Zedd collaboration, The Middle, in a lengthy article, and then turned on Morris, claiming she doesn’t have what it takes to become a real star, because she acts like she’s “hot s**t”.
The post sparked a debate online, with former label executive and college professor Beverly Keel and Rolling Stone Country writer Marissa R. Moss weighing in on the Twitter discussion, standing up for the 27-year-old Grammy winner.
Their tweets caught the attention of Maren, who decided to fire back at Coroneos herself.
“Weird concept, but my ‘humility’ is and has always been towards my fans, not some cowardly basement dweller (no disrespect to basements) with a keyboard,” she posted, adding a special shout out to her two prominent supporters. “Thank you, Marissa & Bev for sticking up for girls who just wanna do their best & not apologize for it.”
It’s not the first time Maren has taken issue with detractors on social media – in November (17), the outspoken musician took matters into her own hands after a Twitter user questioned if she had undergone a “boob job”.
“Not that it would be any of your business, but I didn’t,” she responded. “But guess what? You just won a meet & greet of your choice so you can come and say that to my face!”
Maren is preparing for her upcoming wedding to fiance Ryan Hurd, while planning to hit the road with One Direction star Niall Horan for his world tour.
