After paparazzi photos were published in February of Emma Watson with her boyfriend Leo Robinton, fans and gossip sites started speculating about a possible engagement.
Hollywood.com is not here to gossip, which is why we haven’t talked about these rumors and speculations, nor have we linked to the paparazzi photos as we continue to stay true in our pledge to #BanPaparazzi for the benefit of the celebrities we love and admire so much (see more on our #BanPaparazzi movement here).
Honestly, who needs paparazzi pics when we can follow all our favorite celebs on Instagram?!
Last night, Emma Watson shut down the rumor mill with a string of tweets and we’re here ? for ? it ?
On Monday, May 17, Emma Watson took to Twitter in her first string of tweets since August 2020.
She started her thread with “Dear Fans, Rumors about whether I’m engaged or not, or whether my career is ‘dormant or not’ are ways to create clicks each time they are revealed to be true or untrue.”
Dear Fans,
Rumours about whether I’m engaged or not, or whether my career is “dormant or not” are ways to create clicks each time they are revealed to be true or untrue.— Emma Watson (@EmmaWatson) May 17, 2021
She goes on to promise that if she has news, she’ll share it with you.
If I have news – I promise I’ll share it with you.

Then, Emma Watson gets real about what she’s been up to during the pandemic, saying she’s “failing to make sourdough bread (!), caring for my loved ones and doing my best not to spread a virus that is still affecting so many people.”
In the mean time please assume no news from me just means I’m quietly spending the pandemic the way most people are – failing to make sourdough bread (!), caring for my loved ones and doing my best not to spread a virus that is still affecting so many people.

She concludes her thread by sending love to everyone, in typical Emma Watson fashion:
