In Jodie Foster‘s 40-year career, audiences have watched her play brave, relentless women fighting to save their daughters in films like Panic Room and Flightplan. This week, we learned that the actress’ heroism extends beyond the big screen.

On Thursday, actress Jamie Lee Curtis was in a serious car accident in Venice, Calif., when she was the passenger of a black Yukon SUV that crashed into a BMW. As police and medical personnel flocked to the area, Curtis’ close pal Jodie Foster also arrived on the scene to rush to the aid of her injured friend.

But Jodie Foster is not the first celebrity to help her famous friends in their times of peril. German director Werner Herzog once rescued Joaquin Phoenix from a car wreck back in 2006, and Kate Winslet saved Richard Branson’s 90-year-old mother from a house fire in 2011.

So when do we get to see Jodie Foster and Kate Winslet play badass superheroes in real life? And Werner Herzog has done some acting; let’s get him in on this, too.
