Kanye West: “If I Would Have Voted, I Would Have Voted For Donald Trump.”

You’re probably wondering what Kanye West could possibly do to get booed at his own show. Apparently, it’s not really that difficult. All he had to do was say he’d have voted for Donald Trump, if he had voted at all.

Last night during the San Jose stop on his Saint Pablo Tour, Kanye stopped his performance to talk about our country’s current political climate. “This is my platform, and I’m going to talk about the paradigm shift that’s happening right now,” he said.

In the over 40-minute political speech, which cost him a couple songs, it’s difficult to say exactly what he said as we’ve only got tweets and videos to judge. One thing is for sure, he boldly stated that if he were to vote (which he didn’t) he would have “voted for Donald Trump.”

It turns out Kayne, who famously said George Bush didn’t care about black people in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, appreciated Trump’s disruptive campaign. Shocker there. Kanye West has spent years molding his image into pop’s leading villain. Why would we think his choice of presidents would be any different? Kanye particularly liked how Trump “inspired racists to reveal themselves.” We can’t really knock that because his campaign definitely helped us whittle down our Facebook friends list — goodbye random people from high school who never left our hometown.

Kanye was met with many boos and a few people even threw projectiles at him, one of which was a Yeezy shoe. For a normal person, we’d guess that would have stung quite a bit, but this is Kanye West. He simply signed the shoe with a black Sharpie and returned it to its owner like a boss.

Kanye was sure to admit that his concerts are a safe space for all people regardless of who they voted for. “Whether you voted for Hillary or Trump, this is a safe space for both of you,” he said, adding, “Stop focusing on racism. We are in a racist country — period.”

Here’s a video of the incident.

One fan live-tweeted the speech.

Of course, ‘Ye caused a public outrage with his comments.

Kanye also announced that he would be running for president in 2020, and judging by how Trump’s campaign went, we’re guessing he has a pretty good shot.

Don’t worry Kanye, you’re not alone in your Trump love. You’re up there with your BFF Taylor Swift. You have a whole lot more in common than you might think!
