Kate Hudson’s estranged father Bill has obtained a restraining order against a former business associate after he allegedly threatened to harm his famous children.
Bill Hudson claims business associate Eric A. Zimmerman threatened him and his children, which also includes Scream Queens actor Oliver Hudson, after a film venture fell through, according to TMZ.com.
The 67-year-old claims Zimmerman sent him multiple text messages promising to harm him and “drag your children into this as well” by publicly smearing them in the press. He also allegedly wrote, “the safety is off and I have my finger on the trigger.”
Bill filed for a restraining order to protect himself, Kate, Oliver, and two of his other children, and a judge approved the order, which bans Zimmerman from contacting them all.
The musician/actor divorced Oliver and Kate’s mum Goldie Hawn in 1980, and the siblings were largely raised by the actress and her longtime partner Kurt Russell. Bill and his two eldest children have been estranged for years and he told the Daily Mail newspaper in 2015: “I no longer recognize Oliver and Kate as my own.”
He is also father to two adult children, Emily and Zachary, from his 18-year marriage to Laverne & Shirley actress Cindy Williams, as well as a young daughter Lalania, who he welcomed in 2006 with a long-term girlfriend.
