Scandal star Katie Lowes and her husband Adam Shapiro are to play lovers in Waitress the Musical on Broadway.
The real-life couple will play Dawn and Ogie, opposite Katharine McPhee, from 17 July (18).
It’s not the first time Lowes and Shapiro have worked together – he appeared on an episode of Scandal in 2013, and they co-starred in the short film Chris Weisberg Is Growing Bald back in 2009.
Meanwhile, newly-engaged McPhee made her Broadway debut in singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles’ hit musical at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in April (18). Her run was scheduled to come to a close on 17 June, but agreed to stay with the show until 19 August (18).
