2000 Movieline Young Hollywood Awards

HOLLYWOOD, June 1, 2000 — The onslaught of youth-oriented films this year was given its due at Movieline’s Second Annual Young Hollywood Awards on Thursday night.

Stars such as Mena Suvari, LeAnn Rimes and Shannon Elizabeth waved to crowds lined up outside the Hollywood Entertainment Museum, while Leelee Sobieski, James Marsden, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe and Carmen Electra pulled away from their publicists long enough to sign autographs.

The awards, which honor young actors — or at least those who play young roles — and the films that feature them, were handed out in 15 categories, with top honors going to Sobieski and Joshua Jackson, named male and female Superstar of Tomorrow. James Woods was honored with a Role Model Award.
