Actor Seamon Glass dies

Deliverance actor Seamon Glass has died, aged 90.
Glass passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles on 12 July (16), his wife Yan Zhang confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor is best known for playing one of the evil Griner brothers who encounter Burt Reynolds and his friends on their river adventure in the 1972 thriller Deliverance.
He also starred in 1962 film This Is Not a Test and enjoyed small roles in movies including Sleeper, in which he fought Woody Allen, 1979’s The Rose, opposite Bette Midler, Bootleggers and TV movies such as The Other Side of Hell, and She’s Dressed to Kill.
In TV, he appeared in Star Trek in 1966, The Beverly Hillbillies, and The Waltons, among others.
Glass, who was also a boxer, a schoolteacher and guidance counsellor and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during his lifetime, is survived by Zhang, his wife of 23 years, son David and granddaughter Chelsea.
A memorial service will be held on the public viewing deck of the Santa Monica Pier in California on 31 July (16).
