Ed Sheeran supporting Taylor Swift in private amid record label sale feud

Ed Sheeran is refusing to publicly weigh in on pal Taylor Swift’s new feud with music mogul Scooter Braun, insisting he is speaking privately with the Me! singer.

As Taylor’s friends and peers take sides in the headline-grabbing dispute over the sale of her master recordings, Sheeran is choosing to stay out of the spat.

Fans have asked the Perfect singer which side he is on after Swift called out Braun as a “bully” following his purchase of her former record label Big Machine, and one devotee took to social media to enquire why Sheeran hasn’t released a statement supporting his friend, joining Katy Perry and Brendon Urie among her famous supporters.

Ed, who recently worked with Braun’s top client Justin Bieber on a new song, has responded to the curious fan, revealing he is keeping his support private.

“I have been speaking directly to her, like I always do,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sia has sided with Braun amid his feud with Swift, calling him a “good kind man”.

Offering up her support to the embattled music mogul, who has reportedly asked Taylor for a private summit to clear the air, the Chandelier hitmaker took to Twitter on Tuesday (July 2, 2019) and wrote: “You’re a good man @scooterbraun I hope this passes quickly. I love you keep going (sic).”
