Joe Biden Reaches out to Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Cancer News Breaks: “Veeps Stick Together”

Former Vice-President Joe Biden has joined the celebrities honoring Julia Louis-Dreyfus following the actress’ cancer diagnosis reveal.

The former Seinfeld star, who plays the Vice-President on TV series Veep, announced she was battling breast cancer on Thursday (28Sep17), prompting celebrities like Sarah Silverman and cancer survivor Christina Applegate to reach out to her – and now Biden and his wife have sent Julia a special message.

“We Veeps stick together,” the politician tweeted, alongside a photo from his 2014 White House Correspondents Dinner skit with Louis-Dreyfus. “Jill and I, and all of the Bidens, are with you, Julia.”

The actress was quick to respond, tweeting: “@JoeBiden yes we do. Love back to all of you.”
Julia’s former Seinfeld castmate Jason Alexander has also offered his support, writing: “So sorry you have to go thru this, pal, but I know you will prevail. We are here if/when you need and we love you.”

The Veep actress took to social media on Thursday to announce that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

A spokeswoman for the actress says, “Julia is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and well wishes.”
